4-7-8 BREATHING TECHNIQUE
This is one of my favourite tools for calming an overactive mind, feelings of fear and that overwhelming sense of things being out of control. It’s so easy to do and yet has a seriously powerful physical effect on our bodies as we stimulate our parasympathetic nervous system and drop ourselves into a state of calm and relaxation.
KAPALABHATI BREATHING TECHNIQUE
Kapalabhati breathing is a yogic breathing technique that is performed with an active exhale and passive inhale done in rapid succession. This style of breath induces longer, deeper breaths making it easier to enter a calm, meditative state.
ALTERNATE NOSTRIL BREATHING TECHNIQUE
Alternate Nostril Breathing help balance the left and right hemispheres of your brain and in particular, calm left brain activity that’s active when you tackle the tasks of your day.
Use this technique before your next meditation and you’ll help reduce the number of thoughts you have making for a deeper meditation experience.
